The Isle Royale Wolf and Moose Study has been recording the lives of the wolf and moose for 50 years. The purpose of this study is to get a better understanding of predation that is happening between the moose and wolf on the island.
Predation is the act of one animal killing another.

- 1982- Wolves are hit are by disease and decrease from 50 to 14.
- 1996-Moose see a huge decrease in population from 2,500 to 500 from overharvesting before the winter started.

Isle Royale is located in northwestern Lake Superior and is 15 miles south of the Canadian shoreline and is apart of the state of Michigan. From the Canadian shoreline to the northern side of Isle Royale, sometimes an ice bridge forms. Moose and wolves come to the island via the ice bridge.
